Outreach educational program in cooperation with UWW and Bulgarian Wrestling Federation
On July 31 and August 1, 2019, the Bulgarian Antidoping Centre, in cooperation with Bulgarian Wrestling federation and the United World Wrestling, has conducted an anti-doping education during the World Cadet Wrestling Championships in Sofia. The Program was held by an on-line educational WADA Quiz. WADA’s informational materials were provided for the athletes to advise them on the following topics: Harm to the spirit of sport, Doping Control Procedure, Rights and responsibilities of the athletes and the athlete support personnel, Therapeutic Use Exemptions /TUE/; Nutrition Supplements. The outreach educational program was intent by 49 athletes and athlete’s support personals. The cooperation between the organization continued with anti-doping education session during the UWW’s international camp “More than Medals”. Athletes from 10 countries took part in the education under the slogan “Don’t be a dummy, say no to doping”. The target of the educational program was informing the young athletes of the following topics: Harm to the spirit of sport, Doping Control Procedure, Rights and responsibilities of the athletes and the athlete support personnel, Prohibited list 2019, Therapeutic Use Exemptions /TUE/; Nutrition Supplements .
