What is a "specific substance"?

A ‘specified substance’ is the substance whose presence in an athlete’s sample could be susceptible to a credible non-doping explanation.

In cases where the athlete (or other persons) is able to prove that the use of a specified substance was not intended to enhance performance,

the sanction may vary from a reprimand to two years of ineligibility.Except for the substances in classes S1, S2, S4.4, S4.5, S6.a, and the

prohibited methods (M1, M2 and M3), all substances on the Prohibited List are considered as specified.
