Join WADA in Celebrating Play True Day 2025: "Play True: It Starts with You

Further to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) release of 26 November, WADA wishes to remind the global anti-doping community that Play True Day 2025 will be celebrated on 11 April 2025 and invites everyone to take part in the digital campaign aimed at raising awareness about the importance of clean sport.
The 2025 theme, ‘Play True: It Starts with You‘ highlights the individual responsibility of athletes, coaches, and all stakeholders in protecting the integrity of sport.
Since its launch in 2014, Play True Day has evolved from a small initiative into a global movement that reaches millions each year. In 2024, for its 10th anniversary edition, the campaign achieved a potential social media reach of over 199 million around the globe; and, generated 259,200 social media engagements.
WADA President Witold Bańka said: "Play True Day is an opportunity for the entire sporting community to unite and reaffirm our commitment to clean sport. This year's theme ‘Play True: It Starts with You‘ emphasizes that safeguarding the integrity of sport begins with each of us making the right choices. I particularly encourage athletes and all fitness enthusiasts to join us as of 11 March for the first edition of our #PlayTrueChallenge, a fitness-based challenge that calls attention to the effort and dedication of athletes and the importance of fair play."
Anti-Doping Community Involvement
For this year’s Play True Day campaign, we invite athletes, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, Sports Federations, Governments, Major Event Organizers and other anti-doping stakeholders from around the world to pledge your support for the campaign theme ‘Play True: It Starts with You’.
In 2024, our One Play True Team campaign celebrated the collective and the power of the entire community coming together to champion clean sport. While this year’s campaign shifts the focus from the collective ‘we’ to the individual ‘you’, we remain part of a united team with each of us playing a vital role in the global collaborative movement for doping-free sport. Through creative and engaging activations, we aim to inspire action, amplify personal accountability, and spark a global movement – because clean sport doesn’t just happen. It starts with you.

Participants are also encouraged to:
Innovate by creating personalized #PlayTrueDay visuals based on their specific country, language and/or sport; Use hashtags #PlayTrueDay and #PlayTrue in the lead-up to and on the day to extend the reach and impact of the campaign on social media; and Follow the campaign in real time via our dedicated Play True Day social media wall on WADA’s website
