The role of the athlete’s representative
Each athlete has the right to participate in the sample collection process with a representative (doctor, coach or other official). The role of the athlete’s representative is to observe that sample collection is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedure and to assist the athlete when necessary and permitted. If the athlete is a minor, he/she is entitled to be accompanied by one of their legal representatives in addition to the persons described above. The athlete’s representative should be aware of the sample collection process and of the ways in which he/she may assist the athlete.
Athletes are required to choose a representative upon notification that they have been selected for sample collection.
